Single C-channel refers to a single C-shaped steel channel, the basic load-bearing component of seismic bracing. It is generally manufactured from Q235B steel with hot-dip galvanized or electro-galvanized finish. The profile is equipped with built-in T-slots, which can be assembled directly with seismic hinges, pipe clamps, bolts and slide nuts. It is widely applied to seismic supports and hangers for air ducts, water pipes and fire protection pipelines.Common specifications: standard C-channels including 41×21, 41×41, 41×62.
The profile is prefabricated with channels where slide nuts can be inserted directly. No on-site welding is required; all connections are bolted, shortening construction duration and complying with the specification prohibiting field welding for seismic bracing.
The single-channel structure features light self-weight and meets conventional load conditions for most water supply & drainage pipes, fire sprinkler pipes and ventilation ducts. Compared with double C-channels, it consumes less material with lower cost.
Hot-dip galvanized profiles resist rust and can be used in indoor underground parking lots and humid machine rooms. Thickened hot-dip galvanizing is available for outdoor projects.
Length can be cut on site as required, and drilling is convenient. The spacing and elevation of supports and hangers can be adjusted flexibly to adapt to complex pipeline layout.
Matched seismic connectors, pipe clamps, base brackets and end caps are mature products. Standard seismic accessories on the market are compatible with universal 41-series C-channels.
It can be fitted with horizontal and longitudinal seismic bracings to assemble lateral and longitudinal seismic supports, resisting horizontal seismic forces and meeting the requirements of GB 50981 code.
Carry out anti-corrosion repair on cut sections to prevent rust initiation;
Adopt certified seismic connectors for all connection positions. Ordinary angle iron shall not be used to replace seismic hinges;
The installation angle of bracings shall be controlled within 45°~60°, the optimal range specified by codes;
Single C-channel has limited allowable load. Load verification shall be conducted in the design phase, and overloading is strictly prohibited;
Earthing terminals can be added on channels for pipeline earthing to achieve equipotential bonding.
✅ Conventional seismic supports for fire sprinkler pipelines, water supply & drainage pipelines, ventilation and smoke exhaust ducts
✅ Mechanical and electrical pipelines with low load and small diameter
❌ Not suitable for large-diameter pipelines, heavy-load air ducts and high-pressure pipelines due to insufficient bearing capacity. Double C-channel is recommended to improve load capacity.
