What Is Unistrut Strut Channel? Benefits & Common Applications

Update:Sep 20,2026

Unistrut, widely known as metal strut channel, is a modular prefabricated framing system for mechanical, electrical and plumbing (M&E) installations. Unlike traditional welded steel supports, strut channel systems adopt bolted connection without welding or site drilling, which saves installation time and reduces labor cost on site.

Unistrut channels

Typical unistrut systems include slotted channel, spring nuts, angle brackets, pipe clamps and other fittings. Hot-dip galvanized finish is commonly used for underground, humid and corrosive environments such as utility tunnel.

Major applications:

  1. Utility tunnel pipe & cable support

  2. HVAC duct hanging bracket

  3. Cable tray support

  4. Seismic bracing for M&E systems

  5. Solar mounting and industrial racking

When selecting strut channel, engineers need to check load capacity, coating standard and material grade. Senji Asia manufactures full series unistrut compatible strut channel and prefabricated support solutions for utility tunnel and commercial construction projects.
